Uzumaki Cover Concept

A book cover concept for Junji Ito's iconic horror manga UZUMAKI.

The goal when creating this concept was to make something that looked aesthetically appealing and mysteriously intriging, that would capture the readers attention and curiosity while staying in line with the concept and direction of the work. While the art inside the book is very detailed, the covers go for a minimalist style, as to not try to “compete” with the art inside the book, but, instead, try to complement it.
